Welcome to The Botanic Gardens at Kona Kai Resort, an ethnobotanic teaching garden and one of only two frost-free tropical botanic gardens in the continental USA. Our mission is one of Education, Restoration and Transformation.
As an ethnobotanic teaching garden, we aim to “Transform Your Understanding of Plants.” Through our TYUP™ 90 minute guided tour and website, kkbg.org, we aim to enhance your knowledge of the significant role plants play in our everyday lives. Our TYUP™ [“Transforming Your Understanding of Plants,”] tour is offered Tuesday through Saturday at 10am for $25.00pp. An advance reservation is required. Reservations can be made by via e-mail or by calling 305-852-9766 or 305-852-7200; the grounds and gardens are otherwise reserved for registered hotel guests.
On National Public Gardens Day, May 8th 2015, the general public is invited to reserve a complimentary 90 minuted guided TYUP™ of our Gardens. Weather permitting, tours will be offered at 9:30am; 12:30pm and 3:30pm. PLEASE NOTE: Advance reservations are required, so make sure you reserve in advance.
TYUP's are generally limited to a minimum of 2 and maximum of 8 adults (16+ years). $20 of the tour fee is tax deductible: higher amounts are welcomed; your additional tax-deductible donation will help our gardens continue to grow. For pre or post visits, enjoy kkbg.org.
Uniquely, The Botanic Gardens at Kona Kai Resort is the only south Florida botanic garden with a resort hotel incorporated into our gardens. Resort guests are able to stay, enjoying our gardens day and night. If plants have not yet captured your attention, a few days vacation here at Kona Kai Resort, Gallery and Botanic Gardens just might tweak your perspective.
